Policy Translations Narrative

The Housing Justice Lab aims to be at the forefront of interpreting and simplifying dense and complex legislation, regulations, and policy documents connected to housing justice across North American cities. With our commitment to research anchored in community collaboration and concerns, we acknowledge the time and resource constraints of many community actors and stakeholders working on issues of housing justice, racial equity, and anti-displacement.

We seek to bridge the gap between the technical, jargon-laden language of policy and the practical, often time-sensitive needs of those affected by or working to challenge these policies. At the core of our policy translation initiative, we seek to simplify language, contextualize broader implications in the housing justice landscape, and provide accessible, actionable insights relevant to community actors.
